Contest Description
For the 7 days leading up to Christmas (beginning December 18, 2018, and ending on December 24, 2018) Spellbound will assign its designated Elf a unique and new location outside the Spellbound store. Each morning, Spellbound’s social media accounts will post a new photograph of the Elf in position, with the framing and focus designed to obscure the precise location of the toy. A clue will accompany the posting, which social media users will need to interpret to locate the Elf. The Elf will be displayed with a special card instructing the finder to take a photograph of themselves with the elf (“selfie”) and post to either a Facebook or Instagram account with the hashtag #spellboundsELFie to claim their reward. There is only one contest prize winner per day (the first person to find the Spellbound Elf) who will receive a prize ranging from tickets to Spellbound Escapes to promotional prizes from participating sponsors. Any later locators of the Spellbound Elf that day will receive Honorable Mention in Spellbound’s Social Media feeds (based on Spellbound’s absolute discretion) and be entered into a Grand Prize Drawing for a Private Event at Spellbound, with additional prizes to be announced during the contest period. Contest Rules
1. Sponsors. Spellbound Escapes LLC (“Spellbound”) and its parent Aura Experiential Entertainment LLC (collectively the “Sponsors”) will award one Daily Prize consisting of a promotional item selected by and in Sponsors’ absolute discretion. The value of each Daily Prize will vary by the day and will be announced on official game page and rules at spellboundescapes.com/selfie-rules, all at Spellbound’s absolute discretion. Each Daily announcement will establish the prize and assign a nominal value to that prize, but no prize has any cash or redemption value. In the event of any dispute over the value of the prize that value shall be assigned a final determinative value of $20 (for valuation purposes only and not for
cash or redemption). Many of these will be promotional items from participating partners.
Contestants/Participants must be at least 21 years of age to present the ticket and collect the prize, however we encourage guests of all ages to join in the search—Those who might be under 21 who find the Elf first must claim their reward accompanied by a parent or guardian over 21 years of age. No one under 18 will be promoted as an honorable mention winner without prior written parental permission. Limit one (1) contest entry per person.
2. How to Enter. Entries may be made online at www.spellboundescapes.com/contest or by posting on Facebook or Instagram in the manner described in paragraph 4 below or in person at Spellbound’s facility. Entries must be received by the end of the promotional period referred to in paragraph 4 below. No purchase is necessary to enter or to win. No responsibility is assumed for lost, late, incomplete, stolen, misdirected, illegible or postage due entries, mail or email; or for any computer telephone, cable, network, satellite, electronic or Internet hardware or software malfunction, failure, connection availability, jumbled transmission or service provider, Internet/website use net availability or accessibility, congestion, or unauthorized human intervention or the incorrect or inaccurate capture of entry or other information, or the failure to capture such information. Sponsors reserve the right, at their sole discretion, to disqualify any individual they find to be tampering with the entry process or the operation of the contest or website; to be in violation of the Terms of Service of the website, to be acting in violation of these Contest Rules; or to be acting in a non-sportsmanlike or disruptive manner, or with intent to annoy, abuse, threaten or harass any other person. Sponsors will prosecute fraudulent activities to the fullest extent of the law.
3. Eligibility. Contest is open to legal US residents at least 21 years of age, void where prohibited. Employees of Sponsors or participating partners and immediate family members of Sponsors or participating partners are not eligible to enter. The promotional period begins at 10 a.m. on December 18, 2018 and ends at 5 p.m. on December 24, 2018. The Daily Prize will be awarded at Spellbound’s facility located at Suite 540 in the Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods Resort and Casino, 455 Trolley Line Blvd, Mashantucket CT 06338. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries and how smart you are compared to your competitors and how quickly you or they find the Elf first. Winners will be notified when they find the Elf via direct message on social media and get confirmation at Spellbound’s facility that they have won. Winners must present the winning social media post in person at Spellbound Escapes in Suite 540 in the Tanger Outlets at Foxwoods Resort and Casino, or another winner will be selected.
4. Conditions. Entry Period–Daily Prize-from 10:00AM on the day Spellbound first places an Elf with a designated card (i.e., December 18, 2018) daily until the first contestant finds the elf and reports his location to Spellbound each day. Honorable Mention and Grand Prize drawing—Each day during the period after the prize winner submits a valid social media post with the correct hashtag to Spellbound anyone finding and submitting proof in the form of a photograph of themselves with the Elf, but without touching or moving the Elf, will be promoted and/or featured on Spellbound’s social media feed in a way determined by Spellbound in its sole discretion. Spellbound shall determine who is the winner of a Daily prize or Honorable mention in its sole discretion, which decision shall be final. All Honorable Mentions and Daily Winners will be entered into the Grand Prize drawing automatically.
Each Winner of the Grand Prize, Daily Prize, Honorable Mention, and each participant (each a “Winner” and collectively “Winners”) agrees to grant to Sponsors and those acting pursuant to their direction, the right to print publish, broadcast and use, worldwide in any media now known or hereafter developed, including but not limited to the Internet, at any time or times the winner’s name, picture, image voice and biographical information and for advertising, trade and promotional purposes without additional consideration, and, further without additional compensation, appear for or provide biographical information for use in any presentation or other activity which may include audio or audiovisual interviews. Please note that your name and contact information may be shared with the prize sponsor venue/organization. By entering, contestants acknowledge that Spellbound reserves the right to substitute a different prize than that stated with equal or greater value than that originally promoted or offered.
By accepting a prize, each Winner releases and agrees to hold harmless the Sponsors and any
participating promotional partners, individually and collectively, and their respective trustees, directors, officers, employees, affiliates, representatives and agents from any and all liability for any injury, loss or damage of any kind to person and/or property, arising in whole or in part, from acceptance, possession, use, misuse, inherent risk, damage caused by, or redemption of a prize, or participation in this Contest.
